2.1. Jewellery Materials, Tarnishing & Wear
While most of our products are described as non-tarnish / water resistant, Sylva and Stone does not guarantee that any jewellery item will remain completely free from tarnishing, scratching, fading or discolouration over time. Tarnishing and general wear are natural processes that occur over time, depending on factors including but not limited to:
-
Exposure to water (including prolonged or repeated contact)
-
Contact with perfumes, lotions, cosmetics and cleaning products
-
Exposure to chemicals ie. chlorine or saltwater
-
Sweat
-
General daily wear and storage conditions
-
Sun, heat and UV exposure
Even where items are marketed as water-resistant, prolonged or excessive exposure to moisture, water, hard surfaces and chemicals may contribute to gradual wear or surface changes. Please note that rings are subject to greater daily wear than other jewellery item as they are exposed to more daily activities, surfaces and chemicals. As a result they may become scratched, faded or discoloured over time. Normal wear and tear, including minor scratches, fading, or tarnishing over time, does not constitute a manufacturing fault. Customers are responsible for following our recommended jewellery care guidelines to prolong the life and appearance of their jewellery. Please refer to our “Jewellery Care” section on our website.
This does not affect your statutory rights in relation to the faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
